When making a prototype with CNC machining process, to have the best strength of the prototype and best apperance of the prototype, you need to machine the prototype in one piece, this means that the Polycarbonate sheet thickness need be over the height of product , but sometimes, product size is big such as automotive lighting lamp clear lens, so a super thick polycarbonate sheet will be needed in this case.
in some case , prototype material has to be same as tooling inejction material to obtain a real optic performance, so custom optic grade thick polycarbonate material is needed in this case.
